Seems solid so far and puts out a good breeze. Good looking, though in the picture they made it look much whiter than it is.
It took most of a day to install, directions not that intuitive.
I give it only 3 because of the controls. The wall switch turns on the light.it takes a specialty bulb,not a normal,easy-to find-CFL medium base bulb.
You have to use the remote to turn the fan on and the light off. If you lose the remote, or battery runs out (also a "specialty"battery) you literally can not turn
your fan on.Also, the remote seems weak,i have to stand right under the fan and point the darn remote at it and press several times to get it to respond.
A pull chain option,or an option for the wall switch to turn on the fan rather than just the light, would have been great.
Once you get around to putting it up, your guarantee's run out and the packaging is opened,and if you could return it
you'd have to pay shipping back.
I will always have a slight feeling of being "stuck" with this, I didn't know what the remote would be like.

I researched and found this item and purchased it from Amazon due to the poor contruction of my new house.The overhead light fixtures were installed with very weak blue plastic electrical boxes which are not fan rated.This was the perfect solution.I pulled out the cheap plastic box and installed this brace.Very sturdy, heavy duty, product.It does exactly what is says it will do.GREAT PRODUCT!!!!
I put these up on my living room fan and then 10 minutes later took them off.They were too heavy for my fan to turn fast enough to create any breeze so that my previously very adequate ceiling fan was now not blowing ANY air.Se' la Vive.
Bought this for my husband for christmas and he is the envy of the neighborhood manly men with their garages!! Looks great and is a well made product. Only complaint was the product was delivered to the door in it's original box. Since it was a gift, a brown box was what I was expecting. Not to mention that it was left at the front door in plain view for a thief to take!
Wireless fan speed control MUST be wired to an existing wall switch location. Don't be fooled by the incomplete description.
This fan is Money! I put it up in my living room and hooked it up to a Lutron Fan / Light Dimmer Switch. I can control the brightness of the lights and the speed of the fan from the switch on the wall. The fan is very powerful yet very quiet. At full speed, you can't even hear the motor, just the sound of the blades cutting through the air. The lights are perfect for my large living room. I have the lights directed to highlight parts / items in the room that I want to be seen. Instead of lighting the whole room, it provides great ambient / mood lighting (Especially with the dimmer). There is plenty of light, it obviously wont work in a kitchen unless you have other lights to supplement it.
