Casablanca C17G8A Vita Ceiling Fan, Matte Black Review

Love the design of this fan.Very quiet and lots of extras included in the product.Only drawback is that it provides very little light.If you are looking for a fan that provides high strength lighting this may not be the fan for you.The wattage of the light bulbs suggested is limited.I will need another type of light in the room where it is installed.If that is not a concern I would highly recommend this fan.Love the security feature it provides.

Have had this fan over 5 years now and love it.Has many speeds and even at maximum speed it runs quietly and doesn't wobble or shake.I had someone install it so I cant comment about of ease of installation.Fan looks great and really moves air.

Minka-Aire F711-DRB 52" Delano ll Flush Mount Dark Bronze Ceiling Fan w/ Light & Wall Ctrl Review

I am extremely happy with my Delano II Flush Mount.Recently when my existing ceiling fan stopped working I started searching around for a better looking and better built unit.Our house is a 1926 Craftsman and so I chose the Delano II in Antique Bronze.The overall quality of the fan and packaging were first rate.The fan arrived undamaged without any missing parts.The build quality is quite high with substantial heft to the metal casings, deep rich colors and very nice simulated wood fan blades.The assembly instruction were easy to follow and fan went together without a hitch.

I was pleasantly surprised how easy the unit was to wire.We had an existing un-switched circuit running the previous fan.This un-switched circuit was not optimal in that it forced us to control the fan by pulling the two strings to turn the light on or operated the fan.And as you would expect, these switches failed after a few years.What I really wanted was a wall switch controller!

To wire the Delano II is really quite easy.Simply run a single 14/2 line to a wall box.This may mean that you have to snake a line but in this case it is only a single line that will end up controlling the fan speed, fan direction and dim the light.The wiring instructions were also very easy to follow and wiring the wall control unit entails hooking up a ground wire and 2 two simple twist connections.The wall controller then wirelessly controls the fan speed and light dimmer.

Time to install including snaking the wire was 4 hours.

Casablanca TRIH-45 Trident Ceiling Fan, Brushed Nickel Review

Visually, this fan is stunning.For only having three blades it can move a lot of air.However I returned it due to several shortcomings.

The remote was terrible.It did not reliably function beyond 6'.I ended up having to walk around the room w/the remote trying to get the fan to turn off.

Also, my original goal was to control the fan remotely via wall mounted switches.(Leave the room, turn off the switch--not dance w/a remote.)However, this fan only has a single wire (black) for power that controls both the fan and the light; there is no way to control the two elements individually except via the remote (see above).Other manufacturers provide two leads (black, blue), and place the receiving remote b/t the fan leads and the power from the switches. Casablanca elected to integrate this feature in the fan itself.

I think the fan was simply a poor selection for the situation in which I intended to use it.Amazon was very gracious about giving me a refund.I would purchase another Casablanca fan, maybe not from the line of fans in the ~$200 price point; they seem to be electronically "crippled", making them incompatible w/any third party controls.

Came from Del Mar very quick. A+ for that. I installed it myself (first time fan installer). However, after following the direction to the T, it didn't work. Luckily, Casablanca has the best warranty in the business--according to the tech referred to by Casablanca because of the 120 in-home service and lifetime motor. So after paying $85 to have them troubleshoot my mistake, it worked right away and was even more pleased that it wasn't just a ceiling ornament after all.The tech mentioned that I must have paid a fortune for the fan because at the local retailers, it goes for about 500-600 BUCKS! WOW! Fast forward to night-- I turned the light on and was wondering why the light was so dim and was worried because I thought I may had burned something having installed it wrong.Thats when my one year old son picks up the remote and starts playing with the buttons and I see the light get brighter and was like, WTH?!? So it took him and a tech to get this great fan working, but I end up looking like an ID-10-T in the process.
