Light kit is fine and works well on Hunter fan.Surprised to find it uses Candelabra bulbs since the description on Amazon stated that it uses stardard bulbs.
I can not review this product,because it turns out it is not compatible with our Monte Carlo fan.I had to return it to Amazon.I am writing this so nobody else will have to do as I did!
This Hunter downrod matched the fan exactly, and instructions (included with the fan) were simple to follow.
I bought 3 pairs of these pulls to put on the pulls of all the ceiling fans in the house.They are very heavy and good quality.It is easy to adjust the length needed by trimming the top of the pull and moving the link.I'm very happy with the purchase.
This controller did exactly as it was described and performed very well. I am an electrical contractor and this is the only control of it's type I could find and I was extremely satisfied with it.
Once we got it installed, I'm very happy with it.There were no instructions in the box and the electricians were positive it was not compatible with my fan, the Monte Carlo Micro 24. After numerous phone calls and seaches online I finally thought to call Amazon. (this was on Fathers day) They weren't able to find the instructions either.Long story short, I ended up paying $150 to have the thing installed, and I was the one who finally figured out how it was supposed to be attached to the fan.

If you have a ceiling fan with a light that you'd like to control without fiddling with the little chains and without the expense of wiring a wall switch, this is a great product. Installing the remote receiver in the fan base can be a bit tight, but it's fairly straightforward as long as you are comfortable with basic wiring. Once you have it set up, you can still switch the light on and off at the wall switch, even with the remote holder in place - a very good feature in case you lose the remote in the dark. The remote itself can either live in its holder over the regular wall switch or be anywhere else in the room. The fan buttons are very easy to operate (three speeds and off). There are two light buttons (smaller and fiddlier than they needed to be): one turns the light on at full and dims if you keep it pressed, the other starts the light on dim and brightens, both will toggle the light on / off if pressed briefly. This is a significant advantage over the otherwise similar Hunter 27185 / 27187Hunter Fan 27185 Light Remote Control remote which will only turn on at full brightness.
So here's the deal.I installed this switch for the fan I just installed, lots of work and was excited when it was done and worked.Not being an electrician and all of that.Several days later I would come into the room and lo and behold it would be on.Then I installed a light kit, imagine waking up at midnight and seeing the light come on all by its' lonesome.
The Minka-Aire gyro Fan is probably a pretty good product, however, the fan I received was defective.I installed it and while both fans worked electrically, one of the fans was binding internally and would not continue rotating.A call to M-A tech support quickly diagnosed the fan as defective and I was told to return it.I can't say enough good about Del Mar Designs, the Amazon Vendor.Shipment was paid by Del Mar both ways and their "No Hassle" return policy was truly no hassle. Credit was issued promptly.
It is very easy to use.It has 4 speed control.Super Low which just barely moves the air, low moves the air little more, medium and high.I am glad I bought it.
I purchased this remote control when I purchased my Hunter ceiling fan/light a few years ago.It worked fine for about 2 years.Then the light bulb blew and the remote was dead.I called Hunter and they told me what had happened was the sensing unit attached to the fan blew and that in turn blew the light bulb, and they would send me a new unit.I installed the new unit and the dimmer for the light did not work properly.It would just make the light flash on and off.I called again and they said it was a bad unit and they would send me another.This time the remote would work the fan and light OK but now they would also come on spontaneously at random times.For example, I might go to bed on cold winter night and wake up with the fan blowing on me or the light on.Or, I might go away on vacation and come home to find the light and/or the fan on. Another call to Hunter resulted in their telling me just to change the unit's frequency code and the problem would go away.Well, six code changes later the problem still persisted. In addition, if the electricity went out, even for a few seconds, when it came back on, the remote sensor would automatically turn on the light. I gave up on Hunter, purchased a different brand universal type wireless remote and so far (2 weeks) it has worked flawlessly.This is not new technology.My garage door opener which uses the same technology does not open and close spontaneously or default to an open garage door if the electricity goes out.This is a very poor and defective technical execution of a rather simple product.
