We purchased this fan 4 years ago, and it has been wonderful.Still does not make a sound when running. The finish on it is beautiful - no faux wood look.The only drawback to this fan is the shades.They are paper, and after time, they dry out and actually start to shrivel and crack.I'm afraid that they could actually become a fire hazard. We moved recently and took this fan with us.We were not able to re-use the shades, so I started looking for replacements... that was nearly impossible, since the fan requires a socket ring shade.I have found some, just none that I want to spend my money on.When I called Hunter to see if they had any adaptable shades, they said no, but they would send me free replacements.I received them several weeks ago, and yesterday, I noticed that one of the new ones is starting to dry-out and shrivel already.I may need to get smaller bulbs with less wattage.I am already using 40w ceiling fan bulbs...
I know this sounds like a lot of complaints for one ceiling fan, but the look of the fan makes this con well worth it for me.
