Minka-Aire F711-DRB 52" Delano ll Flush Mount Dark Bronze Ceiling Fan w/ Light & Wall Ctrl Review

I am extremely happy with my Delano II Flush Mount.Recently when my existing ceiling fan stopped working I started searching around for a better looking and better built unit.Our house is a 1926 Craftsman and so I chose the Delano II in Antique Bronze.The overall quality of the fan and packaging were first rate.The fan arrived undamaged without any missing parts.The build quality is quite high with substantial heft to the metal casings, deep rich colors and very nice simulated wood fan blades.The assembly instruction were easy to follow and fan went together without a hitch.

I was pleasantly surprised how easy the unit was to wire.We had an existing un-switched circuit running the previous fan.This un-switched circuit was not optimal in that it forced us to control the fan by pulling the two strings to turn the light on or operated the fan.And as you would expect, these switches failed after a few years.What I really wanted was a wall switch controller!

To wire the Delano II is really quite easy.Simply run a single 14/2 line to a wall box.This may mean that you have to snake a line but in this case it is only a single line that will end up controlling the fan speed, fan direction and dim the light.The wiring instructions were also very easy to follow and wiring the wall control unit entails hooking up a ground wire and 2 two simple twist connections.The wall controller then wirelessly controls the fan speed and light dimmer.

Time to install including snaking the wire was 4 hours.
